Foxton is located approximately 30km south-west of Palmerston North and only a stone's throw from Wellington. The town has a fascinating history and produces New Zealand's yummiest soft drink, Foxton Fizz! 

As New Zealand's Dutch capital, Foxton features a stunning windmill and Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom (the Māori and Dutch Museum). The community fundraised for the huge windmill designed as a replica of a traditional 17th-century Dutch flour mill and holds pride in the township, attracting many visitors.

Vibrant events like the Spring Fling and Easter Fair annually draw crowds to Foxton's main street.

Foxton has more amenities than you can expect from a small town, including a New World supermarket, hardware store, boutique and speciality stores and cafes. You can also enjoy the Off The Loop Wake Park, Foxton Golf Course, and the River Loop Reserve, where you can launch your kayaks from. 

Himatangi Beach is not to be missed either, with its rugged driftwood huts and a massive sand dune field, said to be the largest in New Zealand, stretching over 20 kilometres. You can even drive on the beach! (4WD recommended).

During the summer, Foxton Beach and Himatangi Beach become popular swimming areas, patrolled by their local Surf Life Saving Clubs. The Manawatū River is a great place to sit and chill, with amazing views of Kāpiti Island on a cracker day.
