About Richard
Richard is a new addition to Property Brokers Timaru, and he brings with him a successful real estate history, having spent almost 8 years as a new home sales consultant with a local property development company.
He has extensive insight and understanding of the local property industry, particularly surrounding the new home and section sales, and is passionate about Timaru and its surrounding areas.
Richard is not a stranger to Timaru, having moved to the area 14 years ago to open a small local hospitality business - Petite Wine & Dine - and has spent many years actively volunteering, supporting and promoting various efforts to enhance the lives and well-being of the local community.
Richard's community efforts include becoming the Founding Member of the highly successful fundraising event group - 'Movember Timaru' in 2008– leading to Timaru being awarded 'Capital of Movember' New Zealand in 2012; Founding President of the Timaru Dog Park Trust in 2014; Event Co-ordinator for Timaru's 'Distinguished Gentleman's Ride' from 2016 to 2019 - raising awareness and funds for Men's Mental Health; and more recently in 2017 Richard was a leading member of the team responsible for bringing back one of Timaru's greatest family events, the 'Timaru Soap Box Derby'.
His continued dedication was recognised with Kiwi Bank NZ's 'New Zealander of the Year – Local Hero Award' in 2012 - just one of the many Honours and Awards Richard has been presented.
In addition to his community activities, Richard is recognised as a successful professional Property & Real Estate Photographer.
Richard can be found in his downtime enjoying all Timaru has to offer along with his young family and Newfoundland pup Winnie.
